This post includes both the 2014.3 and 2014.4 releases of AmeriCommerce which are currently live on all stores. So lets dive in!
New Features
More often than not, it's the new features everyone wants to hear about. So here you go…
First off, more speed tweaks!!!
These updates are subtle tweaks to make your store ever faster and are a continuation of all the new
speed based tweaks from from May's 2014.2 release.
Secondly, and perhaps one of the most anticipated new features this year is the new
RESTful API.
This new
REST API will replace our SOAP API and offers full access to our ecommerce platform and packs a lot of power for custom integrations and more development flexibility for your store!
And that's not all.
How about a shiny new
Login with Facebook feature to increase conversions and customer logins? That's right, we've added the very popular Login with Facebook integration to let shoppers login with their Facebook account so you can accelerate their authentication (and their "cart to checkout" experience).

More Enhancements
Beyond some of these bigger items, you'll find this release also includes the following enhancements for your store:
- Visitors who are logged in can now subscribe to a blog and get automatic email notifications when new blog posts are published..
- Product review import / export tools
- Gift certificate import / export tools
- Ability to "require customer login" in order to view all products in an entire category.
- Variant swatches can now be created using only a color picker- no images required!
- eProduct PDF Stamping on delivery so you can specify a string that merges against the purchaser's customer record, order, and the product item.
- New product reviews widget for the category page to allow reviews of products from the category page.
New Responsive Themes
For those of you interested in changing up the look and feel of your site, you'll now have access to two new responsive themes inside the theme store. They're offered as premium themes and we think they're well worth the price. Take a look for yourself:
