To obtain FTP access, ask Support (by submitting a support ticket) for it to be setup. This cannot be done for free trials.
FTP access provides the ability to move files and folders around within your website, move files from your local hard drive to the website, and change aspects of the files in either place. This is a great solution for working with files and folders in mass.
You will see all of your website's folders as well as a SHARED folder that all of your sites can access. Use this folder for product photos or other items that need to be shared across all your sites. Files located elsewhere are site-specific.
Access your site using this url:
ftp.americommerce.com
Enter your username and password. You should have received this when your FTP access was set up.
Use any standard FTP software to access your website such as FTP Pro, BulletProof FTP, etc. Even Windows Explorer has the ability to connect to ftp sites for file management. Just open Windows Explorer and type in ftp:\\ftp.americommerce.com\. You should be prompted for your login information. |
