If we did not buy your domain (www.yoursite.com) for you, then your DNS must be pointed to our servers. DNS is a technology that points a site name to a particular server on the internet. Your registrar needs to be pointed straight to us.
If we bought your domain for you, this will already be done.
Common Steps:
Before starting this process, check with AmeriCommerce Support and ask if we have setup our servers to listen for this traffic. Once we do that, you can continue with the steps below.
1. Log in to your Registrar
2. Edit your Domain Name
3. Update your Name Server settings to point to our AmeriCommerce servers:
-
PRIMARY HOST NAME:
-
SECONDARY HOST NAME:
Once completed, please put in a support request to change the official store URL under domain to point to the full domain instead of yourstore.americommerce.com
Note: DNS changes commonly take 24-72 hours to be completely visible across the internet. All of the Internet name servers must be refreshed to point to your site, which happens automatically but takes time. Eventually when you hit www.yoursite.com it will show the same storefront you see when you visit yoursite.americommerce.com. This means they are pointing to the same place. |
