How can I remove a value using the import since it will not overwrite the data?

Leaving the column/cell blank does not delete the pre-existing information for that field.. The original value will remain as is. It will assume you are updating other information and leave the blanked out information alone. To delete information from a particular field, in the .csv import file you can put <<DELETE>> in the field and it will remove the value in that field.

In version 4.2, this works only for Product and Customer imports. In version 4.3 and later, this works for all imports.
