To setup a different set of pricing for general visitors to your site and for your wholesale customers, you can use pricing based on Customer Types. The pricing you setup for wholesale customers can be viewed only by them with a login.

There are 4 Steps to setting up Wholesale Pricing:

  1. Create a Customer Type: Wholesale
  2. Define the Default Customer Pricing (for general visitors that should see Retail pricing)
  3. Setup the wholesale prices for each product and quantity breaks if any (only visible to Wholesale customers on login)
  4. Assigning Customer Type to Wholesale Customers

Step 1: Create the Customer Type for a Wholesale Customer

  1.  Browse to Customers > Customer Types

  1. Enter the Customer Type (for example Wholesale), and click on the icon and the end of the row. The Login See Pricing Box is checked by default and should not be changed if you want your wholesale pricing to be visible only to approved wholesale customers.

Repeat the process for as many customer types as you want.

Create a Customer Type

  1. Save changes.

Step 2: Define the Default Price Level for Site Visitors (Non-Wholesale):

This sets Customers who haven't logged in yet or are without a Customer Type to a default Price Level.

  1. Browse to Stores > YourStore[Active] > Store Settings.

  1. Scroll down to Pricing and Catalog information.
  2. Select a Customer Type from the Default Price Level drop down.

Select a Default Customer Type

  1. Save changes.

Setting this to -none- will allow all visitors to see your base price/retail price. In the next step we will setup wholesale prices which will be visible only on login to approved wholesale customers.

Step 3: Setting up Wholesale Pricing for Products

  1. Browse to Catalog > Edit Catalog and Categories.

Navigate to the Product Editor.

  1. Select a product and open in the Product Editor and click on the Pricing tab in the editor.

Select the Pricing Tab in the Product Editor.

  1. Under the section Select Pricing Options, check the Store (only required if you are running multiple stores) and Customer checkboxes to display the fields.
  2. Wait for the page to refresh and click on the PriceMatrix button next to New Row.

A row will be added above the button.

    In this row:

    • Store: Click on the blank entry under Store and select the store (if you are running multiple stores) or leave it at (-All-) to apply this pricing to all your stores.
    • Customer Type: Click on the blank entry and select the customer type from the drop down list and set it to 'Wholesale'.
    • Starting Quantity: leave it at 1. If you'd like to offer quantity breaks, you can change this number. You can add more rows for multiple quantity break prices.
    • Cost: Enter how much the product costs you, if you know the value, or leave it at 0. Used only internally for reporting.
    • Price: Enter the price of this product for this customer type. (in this example, your wholesale price).

Create the Matrix for the Customer Type

    1. Click on PriceMatrix to add another row and repeat the process for additional quantity breaks or customer type(s).
    2. Save changes.

Note: If you have a large number of products, you can use the Product Pricing Import Tool. Please setup one product manually and export the Product Pricing CSV file and using the same format, you can import and set wholesale pricing for a large number of products quickly.

Step 4: Assigning Customer Type to Wholesale Customers

The final step is to associate a customer type for your wholesale customers to enable their accounts to view wholesale prices.

To assign customer type you can create a New Customer (Customers > New Customer) and assign a customer type. Or search for existing customers and edit the ones you want. Remember to click Save after you have made the necessary changes.

Completing this final step would allow your wholesale customers to view wholesale prices on login.
