Step 2: Setup Global Layout and CSS Settings in the Theme Designer
These settings apply through out the store. They can be overridden individually as you set up your store.
Page Width: This is where you set the size of your site. The optimal page width should not exceed 780 pixels. If you go over 800 pixels, customers using a monitor setting of 800x600 will have to scroll to left to right to see the entire page. This does not make for a user friendly store. Choosing 100% page width does not give you control over the look of your site. The look will change from computer to computer depending on the monitor viewing settings. Therefore, it is best to select the width to control the site appearance.
When setting the widths for left, center, and right column, keep in mind, these must total the Page width. You do not need to use all three, if you choose not to use a column, place a 0 in the width box.
