An update will contain new features, maintenance hot fixes and other needed functionality.  You can expect to see these periodically as we strive to maintain our ability to release cutting edge features while maintaining a stable shopping platform.  We have gone to great lengths and expense to refine our delivery platform to be able to affect change on production sites in as little as a few minutes without hurting the integrity of your customers' shopping experience what-so-ever.

 

Changes To Your Version:

The version you are on currently is at the bottom of your administration console and will look some thing like "4.2.100.0".  Each versions' changes are listed on the below link and you can see exactly what has changed.

About a Site Update:

A site update typically takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes, during which time a "Site Maintenance" screen appears on your website.  When brought back online, the users that were there before resume their state of shopping, history, cart and other important information as if it never went down.  We do this using our patented ProvisionDesk software, which is a centralized account management tool used to maintain customer sites across server farms and allows us to migrate sites between server farms, update sites, provision new sites and trials and much more.  As part of this software many checkpoints and validations are run against your store to ensure everything goes smoothly and is brought back up to full operation without any issues.  If any issue does pop up, the software automatically restores the site to its previous version before the process started, providing you with maximum stability.
