Deja Vu, a fully responsive theme, is now available for all AmeriCommerce users using the latest 2013.4 release of AmeriCommerce which includes the new responsive admin console.

With almost ten months in the making of the new responsive admin, part of that time has been dedicated to building many theme customization controls to support amazing theme layout options. Deja Vu is our first theme showcasing our responsive layout options and new layout customization features.

Deja Vu Highlights

  • Built on Twitter Bootstrap framework.
  • Responsive breakpoints for various monitor sizes and mobile experiences.
  • Dropdown cart viewable from the nav bar with complete list of cart contents.
  • Product Quick Views from home page and product listing pages.
  • Write review form loads on page from a modal.
  • New image hover/zoom/enlarge capabilities.
  • Responsive theme includes default templates with and without sidebar.
  • Most of our 30+ widgets already styled and supported when activated within this theme.
  • And dozens more custom layout areas available across product pages, category pages, blog and other store pages.

I just started playing with DeJa Vu yesterday.... what a nice gift! ;) This is a great foundation to start building responsive themes on top of, and all the more reason for people to upgrade to the latest (and greatest) admin version, which you need to use this new theme. Great stuff, keep 'em coming!

You mention in your bullet points that there are responsive breakpoints. How would one change these breakpoints? So instead of going to the mobile menu at 780px it would go at say 850px?

Hey Ellis, In order to change the breakpoints you would need to modify Bootstrap (the framework we use for our themes). That being said, Bootstrap (open sourced by twitter) is the most popular frontend framework on the web by far, so the breakpoints used are highly vetted. You can use their customizer to generate a custom version of bootstrap with the breakpoints you want: http://getbootstrap.com/customize/#media-queries-breakpoints

Thanks Ryan. Yes I agree that your breakpoints are in the precise place they need to be for most circumstances. I had a unique reason for changing them, which I did accomplish by going in and editing the multiple css files directly. I was just hoping there was a magical field somewhere that would do all that for me. (Hey a guy can hope can't he?) To any future people reading this and wanting to accomplish new breakpoints, I don't recommend attempting the feat unless you are an experienced developer.
